I turn messy systems into leverage.
Solo founder based in Sacramento, CA ā building BallotBase.
About

Iām RJ Andaya, a Sacramento-based operator, systems builder, and founder.
I immigrated from the Philippines in 2000 when I was 11 and grew up in low-income housing. A lot of my work now is shaped by a simple idea: important information should not be impossible to find, understand, or use.
I spent more than a decade in revenue operations helping startups clean up messy data, fix broken processes, and build systems that turn chaos into decisions. That same instinct led me to build BallotBase, a campaign finance intelligence platform that turns public political money data into clear insight about donors, candidates, races, patterns, contradictions, and power.
I am also building Axed, a layoff tracker focused on making fragmented layoff data easier to follow and understand.
The common thread is systems. I like taking information that is scattered, painful, or hidden in plain sight and making it useful, especially for people who would not otherwise have the time, resources, or access to figure it out.
Outside of work, I hike, climb, run, and build things. My friends would probably describe me as the man who does not sleep, which is only slightly unfair.

BallotBase
Liveballotbase.io
BallotBase makes political money easier to understand. Public campaign finance data is technically available, but it is messy, fragmented, and hard to use. BallotBase takes that data and turns it into clear intelligence about donors, candidates, committees, and races.
It helps campaign teams, consultants, lobbyists, journalists, and researchers understand who is funding whom, how candidates stack up, and what the money reveals beneath the surface. With donor network analysis, pattern recognition, and contradiction analysis, BallotBase surfaces the signals people usually miss: recurring funders, aligned interests, unusual money flows, and gaps between what campaigns say publicly and who is actually backing them.

Axed
Coming soonaxed.info
Axed is a layoff intelligence tracker that brings public context to corporate workforce cuts. The project aggregates layoff announcements, WARN notices, company statements, hiring activity, financial performance, and public-source reporting into one searchable database.
Instead of only tracking who laid off workers, Axed aims to show the broader picture: whether a company is still hiring, how often it has cut headcount, what its financials look like, and what public records or reporting support each event. The goal is to make layoffs easier to understand for workers, journalists, analysts, and the public by turning scattered announcements and filings into structured, source-backed insight.
